1. Question day this week lands on Cinco de Mayo. Are/were tacos on your Tuesday night menu? No, we actually had them on Monday. Hard shell, soft shell or just gimme all the tacos? Hard shell and I really like the cool ranch Doritos ones. Are you even a fan of Mexican food? I am. I would like to eat more Mexican than we do, but my husband isn't a fan. Do you like your salsa mild, spicy, or somewhere in between? Usually mild to in between. I used to love it hot, but just can't handle it these days. I actually don't use salsa all that much. I'm hooked on Walmart's peach-pineapple chipotle. Margaritas-Frozen, on the rocks, or no thank you? No thanks. Margaritas just aren't a favorite. Have you ever been to Mexico? No and having heard a lot about the cartels from Mexican friends...can't say that I'm anxious to go.
2. What's something you may do this month? Look for a job. It's going to depend on how things go with reopening businesses.
3. Tell us what's happening in your state or town as far as restaurants/salons/parks/beaches/businesses opening up. Restaurants have remained open for take-out and delivery service throughout the whole thing. Everything else was closed. Here in Pennsylvania the governor is not reopening most things on a state-wide basis. It's happening by regions, depending on how things are going with the virus in each region. The exceptions, businesses that are reopened across the whole state include: construction, golf courses, camp grounds, and boat marinas. This Friday the first two regions are set to do a soft open (still no hair salons or barbers)...the northwest and northcentral regions. How do you feel about it? I understand moving cautiously in the hot spots, but I can't say I agree completely with what is being allowed to open and what isn't. Are you out and about or hunkered down? I go out to get what we need, to pick up a meal now and then or to take a ride. There really isn't anywhere to go other than Walmart, the grocery stores, and Lowe's. Everything else is closed. Do you wear a mask? I do when I go to the store because it is required. I don't actually believe the homemade masks do anything, but again...required.
4. Mother nature, everybody and their mother, mom jeans, like mother like daughter, soccer mom, mother hen, mother lode, necessity is the mother of invention, stay-at-home mom...pick one and tell us how it applies to your life right now. I'll go with Mother Nature. This whole stuck at home thing would be a lot easier to take if we had warm, sunny, spring days where we could get outside to work and play, but nope...we are back in the 40's for highs with rain this week.
5. April showers bring May flowers...what's blooming in your yard or garden today? Only the dandelions and the apple tree.
6. Insert your own random thought here. This is something I wish I saw more of in our world...
Things are pretty much the same here in NY with opening region by region. I wonder about the homemade masks too. Dandelions are popping up all over our lawn. It seems nearly impossible to get rid of them. Have a great rest of the week :)
ReplyDeleteHow appropriate, that Taylor Swift quote. The news drives me batty, but it's interesting to observe what other parts of the country are doing. Gosh, who in their right mind would want to be in a position of leadership right now! I've always LOVED dandelions. It's a shame, they're getting such a bad rep.
ReplyDeleteOHHHHHHHH I love the peach chipotle salsa too! You already know my thoughts on the masks...and nope, not opening here...I have it on good authority that our mayor isn't going to allow it.
ReplyDeleteExcited to see where the job hunt leads you this go around when you start looking again.
ReplyDeleteI totally didnt even do mexican last night... FAIL!!!!
I agree it feels quite random as to what can open and what can't. Some things don't make sense. Happy Mother's Day to you!
ReplyDeleteYes, amen to more respect! I agree with you on what can open and why not others. It is too bad "we" can't be trusted to take care of ourselves. Those who are compromised should continue to shelter at home but those not should be able to make their own decisions. Masks if we must, but let's get people back to work!
ReplyDeleteYour state's reopening sounds like ours here in NY. I'll continue to stay put until things settle down. Like many others, I need a haircut and would love to eat a meal out but it's not worth getting sick so I'll wait.
ReplyDeleteI share your thoughts about the homemade masks. Probably not very protective (but maybe better than nothing?) 40's for a high? That's rough! Hopefully, things will get better soon :)
