Let's discuss Kindness ...
- Do you put up birds houses or have a bird feeder or bath? No, I don't at the moment. I grew up sitting at my Nana's dining room table watching the birds flock to the feeder just outside the window. Nana lived across the road from a swamp that is now a National Wildlife Refuge. She got more birds and more kinds of birds at her feeder than I've ever seen at anyone else's. Watching the birds was a big activity at Nana's house. I noticed several cardinals and a blue jay outside my office window last week and just told Tim I need to tell someone to get me a bird feeder for Christmas to hang in view of the window.
- The bible says your domesticated animals are to eat before you do since they cannot provide for themselves , what pets do you have and when do they eat? I only have my Toy Poodle, Daisy, these days. She has kibble in her bowl all the time to nibble as she likes and she gets the wet, "yummy" stuff for supper. And I'm bad...she begs, I treat.
- Do you feed the birds in winter? If I get the bird feeder I mentioned above, I will. I was raised to feed them only in the winter months when natural food is scarce.
- How can we show kindness to others? Suggestions? Treat them the way you'd like to be treated, show respect, meet a need that they have, do something helpful without being asked, the ways are endless.
I'm linked up with Annie today for the Tuesday 4.
Hi Stacy - I can tell from reading your blog, and also exchanging a few emails, that you are a kind person. Hope you are doing OK during such a stressful time in our nation. I am doing a fast from Facebook and Twitter - the constant negativity gets to be far too much. I will keep blogging. My experience is that people in blog land are very, very kind. I just keep reminding myself that God is STILL in charge. Enjoy the rest of the week.
ReplyDeleteHi Deb! Thank you for the kind words. :) I'm not fasting from social media, but even though I have recently opened Parler and MeWe accounts, I'm spending far less time online. You are right, all the anger, fear, and other emotions are overwhelming right now. Yes, grateful that God is in control!
DeleteShe begs, I treat. I think that is a dog owners mantra! At least it was ours.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to resist our furry friends when they want a treat. Heck its hard to resist when WE want a treat! Thanks for joing in Stacy!
ReplyDeleteI need to get some bird food for the winter! I have enjoyed watching a feeder right in front of my window while working from home. The down side... I have one bird every day hit my stupid window. Scares me to death! They always fly to the bush in front & look back like, WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME?
ReplyDeleteOur Minnie is spoiled and gets treats. We have plants that bring in the hummingbirds. One year we put out a bird feeder and enjoyed the birds. They left a big mess and all those seed grew up and my hubby was not happy. Treat others how you like to be treated is important. Sadly, some people don't understand that. All the more reason to try to be kind. I find you to be a kind person Stacy and encouraging! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteYep. Our girls beg, we treat. Tom and I've become trained just the way they want us.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get that bird feeder. They are so entertaining! Loved your answers! Have a nice week!

Being in California, we feed the birds year round. Plus we live near a wild bird sanctuary so we get a lot of stragglers.
ReplyDeleteI have 1 black lab, named Laydee and 1 grey tabby cat, names Susie. They are spoiled rotton and we love it that way. We dote on them. I couldn't imagine not having them in my life.
We live in Florida where the birds have plenty to eat and lots of water so not many people have feeders. There are so many birds that they would probably make a horrible mess if we put feed out. I do enjoy watching birds though!
