Being Thankful In the Same Old, Same Old

Good morning! Here we are again, linking up with Rebecca Jo @ Knit By God's Hand for Thankful Thursday. It doesn't seem possible that another week has slipped by...but maybe that's the thing. All the days are kind of the same these days and they are all just blurring into one long, string of time with little to distinguish one day from the next. *sigh*

With being stuck at home, it feels a little harder to find new things to be thankful for, but it's okay if there's nothing new. The thing is to be thankful in all things no matter your circumstances.  So....

This week I am thankful...

** Tim is back at work. To be honest, it probably won't be better for us financially because we had more dollars to spend with him collecting unemployment, the extra unemployment they were giving everyone, and his work paying for our insurances. Now he will not be getting any overtime and we'll be paying for the insurance. Still, I am thankful because he was hating being at home. I can't even tell you how excited he was yesterday about getting up and heading out to work. He was like a kid at Christmas.  (They are able to return to work as the project they will ALL be working on for now is considered medical. It's a plant that makes titanium parts for joint replacements and such. Which is weird, because joint replacement is considered elective surgery and that's a no-no right now. There really isn't a lot of logic to our gov's decisions on what businesses are essential.)

** all of our family in the South is safe after last night's storms and tornadoes. I pray the ones in Mississippi and Alabama stay safe as they are hit today.

** it's warm today even though it's cloudy with heavy rain on the way.

** that Andrew at CommentaramaPolitics warned of upcoming meat shortages a couple of weeks ago and we made sure the freezer was stocked up, because it's all over the news now as more and more meat processing plants close due to Covid infections.

** for some time and space to myself. With Tim back at work I can read, enjoy Bible study, write, craft, whatever...without being pestered. Even getting housework done is easier. It's hard to clean up when "someone" *wink, wink* is sitting in the middle of everything adding to it.

** for all of the creative, talented people sharing their gifts on social media to keep us entertained.

** for all the love and generosity people and businesses are showing in taking care of those in need.

** for every opportunity provided through this for ME to show the love of Jesus to someone during these difficult days.

** for the health of all my family and friends.

** as always, for each and every one of you! I pray daily that you and your families stay well...physically and mentally...and that you face no hardships you can't face.

  1. Unfort. Cuomo has no plans to open up...after watching his press conference yesterday, I am just dumb struck at his narcissism.

ANYWAYS, indeed, there is a meat shortage...and honestly, I find that very disturbing. Hunger is a real issue in America and it needs to be addressed.

I am very thankful for you, my friend. smiles

    1. I noticed there was less meat at Walmart last week. Fortunately, we'd just come from a local meat market and had a lot of meat in the trunk.

  3. I totally understand the need for alone time. I love when Ricky is home with me but also do love my time to have some quiet time & to be by myself. I feel so bad for moms with little kids who really get ZERO time to themselves right now
Hope it all goes well with Tim back to work.

  4. Hi Stacy, glad to hear your hubby can go back to work. Calif. is now allowing elective surgery. I am lucky I get quiet time even with the grands here. They are 12 and 10 and their mom leaves them a list of homework and things to do. We provide meals and guidance. They have not said they are bored, but they do miss their friends.

  6. Even tho' we're both retired, I can empathize with your enjoying some alone time. When Tom went golfing with our neighbor day before yesterday it felt positively free-ing. Thank you for the prayers; even tho' we've been here 2 years now, I'm still prone to fretting.

    1. Hey, I get it. We've had a couple of tornadoes here. I love a good thunder storm, but I am very tuned in to the difference in the atmosphere, sky, etc. and take cover when I need to.

  7. This is such a sweet thankful post, Stacy, I happy for y'all that your husband was able to go back to work. Those storms were devastating, we were expecting them to come to our area, but the weather service says they won't!
    Have a blessed day,
    Sue
