Good morning! I'm getting a late start today. It's looking like it might be one of those days where I don't get dressed until afternoon. I'd feel like a slacker, but hey, everybody's doing it these days. Ha!
Anyway, since I'm here and you're here, we'll just pretend neither of us is in pajamas or sporting shelter-at-home hair and I'll go ahead and join in with Rebecca Jo @ Knit By God's Hand for Thankful Thursday. Now, more than ever, it's important to look for and focus on all the good things in life.
This week I am thankful...
** that everyone I know and love remains healthy and virus-free.
** that stores seem to have plenty of stock now. Well, except for toilet paper. That continues to remain rather elusive. Fortunately, we have plenty for now. I don't hoard, but I've always liked to keep a good supply on hand (not the thing you want to run out of, ya know?). That gives me the freedom to not worry and just buy some when I run across it.
** our grandson used the big-boy potty for the first time yesterday!
** the stimulus checks and our unemployment checks both finally hit the bank account this week. We can pay some bills without having to tap into our savings.
** my mom made us all masks last week since it has now become mandatory to wear them in stores here in PA. The stores are not to allow anyone in without masks and all the employees must now wear them, too. It becomes enforceable by law beginning Sunday. They are impossible to find so I'm glad we have them.
** we were able to join together with the members of my Bible study group on Easter for teaching and communion.
** for our local meat processing companies who have remained open and kept people supplied with locally raised meat. Hearing stories of likely shortages in the next few weeks, we visited one yesterday and stocked up.
** that while feathers may have been ruffled a few times, Tim and I continue to get along pretty well given the constant togetherness.
** for everyone who thinks up the daily memes we all participate in. If not for those I don't know what I'd blog about since it is the same old, same old every day. Topics are slim when grocery shopping is the social highlight of the week...and you can't really socialize when you do that, anyway.
** for the sense of humor most people are hanging onto. I cruise through the news every morning and then hit my Facebook news feed for all the funny stuff that helps keep it in perspective.
** as always, for each one of you!

Constant togetherness - its a true test to see if you get along :) I'm surprised how well The Hubs & I are doing :) LOL
ReplyDeleteWe're still waiting for the Trump Bucks to hit our accounts. It'll be a relief -for sure.
I look so forward to the funnies that I see online - I need those laughs
I am thankful that everyone I know is virus-free too. And there are days when I change from my pajamas to my running clothes, back to my pajamas again! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Colton!
ReplyDeleteYa, these clever memes just make my day. I'm so thankful the masks I ordered the end of March finally arrived. Despite all the on-line tutorials, my attempts were a hot mess. I'm thankful for YOU, too!
Your Colton is growing up so fast...big boy potty is a biggie!!
ReplyDeleteTake care and keep safe!!
Yay for using the big boy potty! A huge milestone for sure! I don't go out often, but when I do, I don't wear a mask. I would say it's about 50/50 in the stores here. Most employees wear masks, but not all, and definitely not all the customers. My husband works from home Mondays and Tuesdays, then goes to the office Wed-Friday. (They stagger the office, so only a few are there at a time). Having him home from Saturday through Tuesday is going surprisingly well. I am used to a quiet house (except for instrumental music), so having him on conference calls throughout the day has taken a bit of getting used to. But overall, it's going well. My one dog, Ginger, loves it, though. She sits by his feet all day long.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you!
psst… I think I am ready to commit mutiny, just keeping it real...anyways...yay for Colton!!!
ReplyDeleteNo stimulus check here...sigh...that is all that is going on, unless you ant to break house arrest and drive up and help me with writing my final paper, LOL.
Um...I'm all for breaking house arrest, but writing a final paper? I think I'll just sit here, thanks. LOL You might not want my help, anyway. Every single paper I've ever written in high school, college, and seminary was typed in one very long sitting the day before it was due. I've never, ever done a rough draft. I will say I usually got A's and never anything lower than a B and more than once my teachers or professors used my papers as examples of how a paper should be done. (This is something I didn't announce when my kids were in school.)
DeleteI would love to have some fresh meat! Great for Colton, a milestone. We have celebrations too and I posted it on my blog.
ReplyDeleteWe aren't sure when our check will arrive since we are both on social security. Hoping it is soon because we both need new glasses and are planning to use some of the money for that. Glad you have yours and your unemployment checks. Our stores are stocked well now, too. Blessed.
