Saturday 9: I Don't Care

It's Saturday and time to link up with Crazy Sam for the Saturday 9.

Saturday 9: I Don't Care (2019)

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) This song begins with Ed Sheeran admitting he's not enjoying the party he's at. What's something you have to do this weekend, but don't want to do?  Stay home all day every day. (Yeah, cabin fever miiiiight be setting in.)

2) Justin Bieber sings about trying to have a conversation at a party. Have you seen any of your social gatherings cancelled because of the Covid-19 pandemic?  The only thing I can think of that was actually scheduled and got cancelled, other than my Bible study group, is the bridal shower for a friend's daughter.

3) Both Ed and Justin conclude that this party -- and everything else -- is okay because they're with the ones they love. Who in your life always makes you feel comfortable and content?  My husband.

4) Ed and Justin have both appeared on The Simpsons. Are you a Simpsons fan?  We used to watch them all the time when the kids were at home, but it's been years since I last saw the show. Is it even still on?

5) Speaking of animation, Ed Sheeran has said that he'd love to do a Disney soundtrack, like Elton John's Lion King. Do you have a favorite Disney movie?  The original Robin Hood and Lion King are my favorites. Sorry, not a princess girl.

6) Justin Bieber is fluent in French, and Ed says he knows enough to get by. Say something to us in French.  Parlez-vous Francais?

7) Justin can solve a Rubik's Cube in less than two minutes. Are you good at puzzles?  Not really. I don't have the patience to stick with it.

8) In 2019, the year this song was popular, 20 new governors took office. Tell us something about the governor of your state (or commonwealth)?
The governor of my state is Tom Wolf. That's all I'm going to say in the interest of peace.

9) Random question: Did you more recently give a compliment, or receive one?  Received one. My husband said something nice just a little bit ago.

  2. I do not totally agree with most things political but our Gov. is doing a good job with the Covid virus problem. Yes Lion King is great. I love most Disney movies. I did Sat 9 after a regular post on Birthdays.

  4. That's a bummer about the bridal shower--maybe they could Zoom it? I wish I had bought stock in Zoom before all this came down, lol. Have a great Saturday!

    1. That's an idea, but I don't think the family's that tech savy. I don't even know what they are doing about the wedding.

  6. Hi Stacy. I think our governor is doing all right with this whole COVID-19 thing. He has started to reopen parts of the economy, I hope it isn't too soon. I do worry about that. I would rather stay locked down a bit longer, but we do need our jobs. At least he kept schools closed. Hey, I have lost your email address so if you could email me again sometime, I will email you about how I found/met my birth family now that I have a little more time. I guess I am a little shy about putting it out there in my blog. I hope you have a good weekend.

  7. Hi Stacy: I agree with you on getting cabin fever.
I didn't realize how wonderful living NORMAL could
be until I didn't have it anymore.

  8. Egads -- what an awful time to be in a position of authority. Personally, I applaud our governor (Kay Ivey), but there's sure some stinkers out there. One of these days I'm going to have to watch Lion King.

    1. I do okay with word puzzles, but even those annoy me after a while.

  10. Yeah, the Disney Robin Hood is one of my faves. I have fond memories of watching that with my kids when they were little. Oh, and 101 Dalmatians! Love that one too. My son-in-law's sister is getting married next Saturday, and yep, the wedding is still on. Daughter and son-in-law aren't going, nor is the other brother. The only people who will be there are both sets of parents, and it will be done over Zoom, as even the officiant cancelled. Also, next Saturday, I was supposed to attend a baby shower. It has been made into a Zoom shower. Ugh! I don't like video chat at all.

    Blessings to you!

    1. Aw...congrats to the bride and groom, but how sad this had to spoil their big day. I know I would be crushed if it was me.

  11. I am not sure I've ever seen the Disney version of Robin Hood. If I have, it certainly didn't stick with me.

    1. It's the first Disney movie I really remember going to see in the theater. It featured Roger Miller as the narrator and the voices of Peter Ustinov, Phil Harris, Brian Bedford, Pat Buttram, George Lindsey, and Andy Devine to name a few.

    1. The Lion King is the first of the new wave of Disney movies that I really liked. I'd really like to see the live action one and the musical one day.

    1. Oh my...what a description of yourself! I don't picture you that way at all. Anyway, yeah, he's a good guy. Not perfect. Lord knows, he is doing enough things to drive me bonkers during this whole mess, but "quirks" aside, he's good.
