Currently...

It appears that there is no Tuesday 4 to join in this week, so a day late, but Currently it is.

The weather...was a beautiful 78 degrees today with sunny skies and a LOT of wind. Tomorrow, Tuesday, is supposed to be just a bit cooler with a high of 73 degrees, but there is rain in the forecast.

Reading...I'm technically just getting ready to start reading Be My Ghost, A Haunted Haven Mystery by Carol J. Perry. I went to Barnes & Noble with my client today and they were having a buy one, get one half off sale.

Watching...I've finally gotten caught up on NCIS. Now I've moved on to NCIS New Orleans and I've just started watching NCIS Hawaii.

Cooking...in all honesty, nothing much the last few days. Tomorrow I'm making cabbage steaks, some late season corn on the cob, and...an as yet undecided meat.

Looking forward to...going to see God's Not Dead: We the People with my Bible study group next Tuesday and then next Friday, Tim and I are heading to Erie for a 3-day weekend. We will see my father, Tim's sister and niece, and spend plenty of time admiring the lake, eating wonderful food, and touring the wineries along the lake shore and the NY border. There will probably be some antiquing and thrifting involved as well. Maybe even a trip to the casino.

Thinking about...the fact that this Saturday is our son's 35th birthday...a milestone birthday...and because of his choice to shut us out of his life, we won't celebrate with him. I bought a card today and have decided that after a year I'm ready to write a letter to him, which I will include with the card. (Actually, I've written him several letters over the past year. They are put away in the safe, along with letters I have written to his children. Our daughter knows that if we are never reconciled or something happens and he has not come back around the letters are to be sent to them.

I'm thankful...that while our daughter's family has dealt with nasty colds and allergies recently, Covid was not in the picture...even though the school kept sending poor Colton home insisting he be tested again. The doctor finally wrote the school a rather firm letter that the poor kid has allergies and wearing the mask all day just aggravates it.

I'm celebrating...all things autumnal. The colors, the smells, the tastes (I had my first pumpkin pancakes today!), sweaters, soft glowing lights, festivals, and cozy evenings at home.

Making me laugh...

I hope that left you smiling.
Have a great week!

  1. Hi Stacy, I was going to do Tuesday 4 but it was not updated. I have been super busy and hope to blog this week. We are watching the NCIS shows too along with a lot of others. My husband and I like to watch Survivor and the Good Doctor. I watch all the medical shows! You mini vacay sounds nice. Out Lifegroup is going to see the same movie. We have had a few days of fall weather but it will be 100 this weekend! Enjoy your beautiful weather!

    1. 100! Oh my...I would not enjoy that at all. That is waaaaay too hot for me. We'll have to compare "notes" after we see the movie. I am excited. They have all been so good and this one is so timely.

  2. Hi Stacy. I recently wrote a letter to my oldest daughter who I never hear from. No response. I didn't really expect one. My guess is that she will come around in her own time and I just need to try and stay healthy and outlive the silliness. Hearing from her husband did help, even though his primary reason for email was to tell us about the impending divorce. He did say the older grandkids remember and love us and he thinks that given time we will be able to have a relationship with them. I hope so. Time will tell. God's got this. I have the first two God's not Dead movies on DVD but haven't watched them. Didn't know there was a new one out. The book looks good. Charly and I are going to have another long weekend getaway and you can bet that in addition to some hiking, there will be thrift and antique store treasure hunting. The book looks good. Enjoy! So cool that you get to go to Barnes and Noble as part of your job! I am totally jealous. ;-) See you again soon!

    1. I hope you hear something one day soon from your daughter or grandchildren. We hang on to the hope that our son's kids will remember us and reach out to us on their own one day. As for the letter...well, I wrote and mailed mine today. We will see. I feel it was a loving, warm letter that couldn't possibly offend anyone, but I know you know all too well how our words get twisted in their thinking. Sigh.
Hooray for our long weekends! And treasure hunting!

  4. So sorry your son is estranged. I pray he'll have a change of heart soon.
I bought the "God's Not Dead" on DVD. It's a good lesson. The one that really touched me was "The Case For Christ" and "War Room". They also touched my heart about Whom we serve!
It's feeling like Fall here. So nice. I'm so glad that Summer is over.
BTW, everyone on this blog, PLEASE continue to pray for our Country. If that Infrastructure bill passes, we're in for full-blown Marxism, high taxes, no liberties, etc. It's bad y'all. Really, really bad. Please pray that God will save us. Thanks.
    Blessings. xx

    1. Thank you. There is always hope, but I'm not counting on it...he is of the woke generation.
I have seen all of the "God's Not Dead Movies." I believe this is the 4th one. They've all been good. This time they are taking on the government. Should be interesting. "The Case for Christ" was just okay for me, but I read the book which is much deeper so that's probably why the movie didn't really impact me. "War Room" is just fantastic. I don't have room for a dedicated prayer closet in our little house but after seeing the movie a friend and I designed a prayer notebook that I still use and have shown others how to set up their own.
      Fall is good!
Always praying. I feel like it isn't just us. The whole world is going down the tubes.

    1. I started watching Nine Perfect Strangers today. I liked the book...not sure about the show yet. Yes, we all have our battles...I trust God has it all in hand.

  6. cant wait to see what you think of that book.
I hope you & your son can work out the issues soon. I know my mom & brother havent spoken in years & its so hard on the whole family. I know its hard to heal when one side has heels dug in, so send that letter. You never know what will be the push to reconcile.
That BK sign / moon... that's me without my glasses anymore

    1. I've read 3 chapters today. It's an easy read and it kept me interested, but I don't really understand what's going on yet. Oh, that makes me so sad about your mom and brother. I don't think I knew that. I guess we at least have that "blessing." Our son doesn't talk to anyone in the family so it doesn't stress anyone that way. That has to be awful. Prayers for healing there. The BK sign...that's been me since I was 7!

    1. I know you do and I appreciate that. Hugs and prayers for reconciliation in your situation, too. And all the many, many, many others I have met in the same shoes.

  8. I am praying for your relationship with you son. I am glad you sent the birthday card with a loving, friendly letter. Always leave a door open. We never know when our "friendly" message will be the signal they need to come through the door. In HIS time. God makes all things beautiful, in HIS time... (i'm sure you know the song) Hope you have a wonderful weekend with your hubby and also with the others you will meet along the way. Sounds wonderful for a fall weekend. (((hugs)))

    1. Thank you, sweet friend! I appreciate your prayers very much. I know it comes down to my son's free will, but there are a whole lot of people praying. Mountains can be moved. If we never reconcile I will be okay. What I worry about most is where he's going to spend eternity.
