Being Sociable with the Tuesday 4

Linking up with Annie for the Tuesday 4...just 4 short questions every Tuesday.

Today's topic is Being Sociable

1.  Do you bring a gift when you are invited to someone's home?  It depends on a lot of things. If I'm invited for dinner I will take something. If I'm invited for, say a birthday party, I probably won't take something other than a birthday gift. If it's a dear friend's home and I go there a lot I'm not going to take a gift every time and I wouldn't expect anyone to bring one to my house, either.

2.  You've invited other bloggers for an old fashioned  tea party.   What are you serving for tea?  Well, for starters, there is a lovely tea shop in the next town over. I would choose some lovely teas from there and brew a few different pots at a time. I'd serve scones and possibly crumpets (if the tea shop will sell me some to bring home), real Irish butter, yummy fruit preserves, and some other homemade goodies would be called for, as well.

3.  Do you enjoy entertaining company in your home?  I used to love it and have a house full of people all the time. Not so much these days, but I still like to have small gatherings.

4.  The  4th of July national celebration will be in South Dakota at  Mount Rushmore. How will you celebrate America's birthday?  At this point I don't know. Does anyone? My town has already cancelled its big parade, carnival and fireworks. It will depend on what is open, what's happening, what's allowed, I suppose.

  1. Isn't this all sad? Cancelling July 4th! Seriously...never thought I would live to see the day when America's birthday was cancelled or the not knowing...just ticks me off (and now you know where I stand, no surprise, grin).

I would love to have a tea party with you, smiles. Have a great day friend.

  2. I am so upset that so many towns are cancelling the 4th as it has so much meaning and I think especially this year people need it very much. I also love a house full of people!

  3. Why am I not surprised to learn you enjoy(ed) having a house-full of people. (*smile*) Having this silly need to be cruise director, I'm uneasy with more than 3-4 folks at a time. You and Linda have me crossing my fingers you'll be enjoying a get-together this summer. Better share lots of pictures!

  4. Your tea party sounds like it will be wonderful! I will be right over! I love tea houses. There is one I like to go to also, and their desserts are fantastic. Loved your answers! Have a great Tuesday!

  5. It is hard to believe they are canceling fireworks for the 4th. It is two months away! I guess because of the crowds. Our town's event draws close to 8,000 people each year. Sad.

    1. Our town's celebration is a week long and draws 25-50,000 people! It's going to be very weird without it.

  6. I hope they will reconsider the fireworks on the 4th of July. I think that is so sad. But each family needs to do their own part to celebrate. Our family usually gathers and makes home made ice cream after a cookout. If they can stay late enough, we do some sparklers or something. We don't do the big fireworks, and we usually just watch them from home in the sky if we can see them, or watch them on TV.
