Sunday Stealing

Hello and a happy Fathers' Day to everyone! We've been grocery shopping, visited by the grands and went to visit my stepdad, so that's why I'm joining in Sunday Stealing late today.

Thanks to Bev, who had this to say, for the questions:

More questions from Sam Dobson, whose web site seems to be gone now.

1. If you could spend a day in someone else’s shoes who would it be and why?  I would choose the shoes of someone younger and skinnier without all the aches and pains of middle age. A day without all that sounds pretty darn good to me!

2. Which celebrity gets on your nerves the most, and why?  I don't pay enough attention to any of them to be specifically annoyed by any one in particular. It's more of a vague state of annoyance caused by those who think that just because we pay lots of money to see their movies or listen to their music, that we need to hear their opinions on the things going on in the world. They may be nice people, but a lot of them are not in touch with the "real" world and they should just really not lecture any of the rest of us on how to live.

3. If you were going to bury a time capsule, what would you put in it?
If I'm burying it, then I'm assuming it's a personal time capsule and not one meant for the world at large. So...family photographs, favorite mementos, family history, a favorite book, favorite music, maybe a current newspaper or news magazine, and maybe a journal.

4. What is your saddest memory?  I have a few candidates, but I'm not going there today.

5. Would you rather be in your pajamas or a suit all day?  Pajamas. D'uh.

6. What’s the strangest place you’ve ever gone potty?  I don't know. I used to do a lot of hiking and camping, was in the Civil Air Patrol...the forest doesn't usually have bathrooms.

7. How old were you went you had your first kiss?  Six. One little boy in my class was a real player. Every Friday afternoon when the whole school would gather for a movie in the cafeteria. Joey would sit by a different girl every week and profess his undying love and sneak a kiss.

8. Do you have any strange or unique phobias?  No, my phobias are snakes and sharks and those are pretty common.

9. If you could bring back one toy from your childhood, what would it be?  My Schwinn Stingray bike. I loved that bike!

10. If you could be any Disney villain, which would you be?

11. If your life was a novel, what would the title be.  Contentment Comes Home

12. What do you need more of in your life?  Social gatherings.

13. What are your top 3 quotes?  "Let it go," "What do you want for dinner?" and "I love you."

14. What do you want people to remember about you?  I loved the Lord, I loved my family, and I tried to live according to that (which would encompass kindness, generosity, etc.)

15. What’s the biggest mistake you’ve made?  Probably not finishing my degree.

  1. I'm not up on Disney movies an couldn't think of any villain I would want to be! These were some interesting questions this week. PJs wins, hands down! Have a good week, Stacy!

  2. I'm not sure who that evil Disney character is. I obviously need to watch more cartoons.

  3. Ohhhhhhhhhhhh I love Maleficent! Not sure if I could play a evil character...only maybe to get ride of the sheeples or cast a spell to wake up folks.

Wishing Tim a Happy Father's Day, friend. smiles

  4. It surprises me how many people are upset with celebrities expressing their opinion. don't they have the same right we do to speak out on issues that are important to them? they have the advantage of being able to reach a large audience, which my comments about the same issues do not.

  5. Totally agree with your response to #2, Stacy! Wish they'd just do what it is they're being paid to do and keep their big traps shut. Love your book's title! I might have to 'borrow' that for a final chapter in my (as yet unwritten) memoirs.

  6. You say you don't pay attention to celebrities, and yet you know Brad left Jen for Angelina. I guess some celebrity news gets through to everyone.

    1. That was a long time ago when I did pay some attention, but yes, I suppose some gets through no matter what when you're standing in line at the store and it's on every magazine and tabloid.

  7. I largely ignore it when rich celebrities start preaching about causes that they don't contribute to.

Entertain me - don't lecture me.

    :o)
