Thank you to Annie for continuing the tradition and coming up with the questions week after week.
Let's talk about all that Glitters!
1. Everyone has a birth stone and a birth flower. What are yours? I'm an August girl. My flower is the appropriately flashy Gladiolus. My birthstone is the not so flashy (or pretty in my opinion) Peridot.
2. Gold glitters and California is the Golden State. What is your state called? The Keystone State. Pennsylvania was the located in the center of the original 13 colonies and was considered the keystone that held the young country together.
3. "All that glitters is not gold' goes the old saying.Do you have a favorite saying or biblical verse you will share with us?
"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."
I like it because it reminds me that God gives me strength when I need it and when I can't fight any longer He is my safe place where I can find rest. It also reminds me that He is not distant or long ago. He is real and very present. He is with me at all times.
4.Glittery greeting cards or plain? Which is your preference? I like glitter on cards that have an old-fashioned or retro look, but I usually lean more toward the simple, classic, and elegant.
** For those who follow the blog and are wondering, Tim's tests were so-so yesterday. They removed one small polyp during the colonoscopy. That was nothing to worry about and he doesn't have to have another one for 5 years (less than the usual 10 years because his father died of colon cancer). The endoscopy did show Class A reflux and a small hiatal hernia. The more worrisome thing is that they did a biopsy of the mucus membrane that showed suspicious change. It is supposed to take about a week to get the results back on that. No problems with the anesthesia. He was home before 9:30 and by 10:00 he was on his way to work.
As for me, I called the dentist's office and begged them to see me before my scheduled appointment tomorrow. I had broken a tooth about 3 days into the stay-at-home orders. It didn't hurt at the time so it was no problem to wait until things opened up again. I called as soon as I could for an appointment, but so did everyone else. In the meantime, the tooth decided to start hurting over the weekend. I was grateful someone cancelled today and I was able to get in this afternoon.
The dentist took one look and said it was broke off too far down to save it so it had to come out. That was no fun! He usually rubs stuff on the gums to numb them for the shot, but today he just jabbed it right in there and then gave me another that may as well have been in the roof of my mouth. Holy cow, did I see stars! That was just the warm up, though, as he was determined to pull the tooth out in one piece. He put the spacers in (another unpleasant experience) and then did everything but climb up on the chair, put a foot on my chest and yank. He pulled and tugged and worked that thing like crazy...while grumping at me to hold my head still. Riiiiight. Anyway, it's done and feeling much better so all's well that ends well.
Hope all tests come out ok. Goodness, perhaps another dentist. Enjoy your day...
ReplyDeleteMy husband has a hiatal hernia and has to be watched as well, actually, I don't know what its called, but the belly button is detached. I will keep Tim in prayer, Stacy.
ReplyDeleteAt least you can get to a dentist, not so here, sigh...and I would def, look for another dentist. ugh.

WOW, what an experience with your dentist. Glad it's over.
Hi Stacy. I hope your husband gets good biopsy results. Glad you got into see you dentist to get your tooth taken care of. Have a good day.
ReplyDeleteHope all goes well for Tim and WoW, I was so sorry to hear about your bad experience with the dentist. Hope you're doing well today!
ReplyDeleteLifted a prayer for Tim and the results you are waiting for. So glad you got your tooth taken care of. I dread having mine pulled but need to get it done next month (have to wait because of the knee surgery). Hopefully the temporary filling will stay put until I can get it done. Take care!
ReplyDeleteWhat a horrible experience at the dentist! Reminds me of a former boss -- outspoken, 'ballsy' woman who bragged she gestured to her new dentist's 'privates' and said, "You hurt me, I hurt you." Praying for good biopsy results!
ReplyDeleteLove your Bible verse. Holy moly, that experience at the dentist. AHHHHHHHH!!!!! That sounds so painful. I hope you are feeling ok. Prayers for good results on Tim! Loved your answers! Have a nice week!
