Five Things

1. Physical therapy has really helped with my leg pain. The stretches alone seemed to mostly do the trick. Yesterday we started concentrating on strengthening the IT band. Not so much fun, but if it helps keep me from going back to the pain...

2.  Leah's 1st birthday party is tomorrow (her actual birthday is the 29th). I've got to get the ingredients to make baked beans and pasta salad today. This afternoon I get to blow up a zillion balloons to make a balloon arch.

3.  Still riding the high of meeting my brother on Wednesday and introducing Megan, Colton, and Leah to everyone. And Megan asked last night if we could go up again on a weekend so Cody could go. She wants to take Colton to my father's place to fish with him in the pond.

4.  Still no pool. Getting really irritated about it, too. It was just last Saturday that we were told "the end of this week."

5.  Meeting up with 2 of Tim's sisters and a family friend for a girls' lunch in just a bit. Since they toughened up the restrictions due to Covid-19 again, restaurants can only have dine-in customers at 25% capacity. We're planning to be the first ones in line when the doors open so we get a table.

  1. Hope you have a good time for lunch, and the birthday party tomorrow sounds wonderful! I am SO happy you were able to meet your brother and that your daughter and kiddos went too. I do hope you can continue this new family relationship. Makes me wish I could meet my grandmother's birth family in PA, but so far no one has responded to my inquiries. Of course they would be like 3rd or 4th cousins and not really interested. I hope your pool comes today!!!

    1. I haven't heard anything from my daughter-in-law about the names, but we also haven't heard anything much at all from our son, either. Praying that changes one day.

  4. Hope you have some sort of air tank for those balloons!!! :)
Glad PT is helping. I think we all need more stretching for our bodies as they get a few years on them.

    1. Nope. Me and my sister-in-law blew them all up. I'd agree with the stretching being needed more as we age.

    1. I think we have some who can't do dine-in because it doesn't pay when they can only have 25% of the fire code capacity inside...and that includes the staff.

  7. How great is it that Megan wants to go to your bio-dad's with the kids!! I'm so happy for you, Stacy! Making a balloon arch... I have a little experience with that. A couple of us used to make them for Family Day at the museum where I worked. Takes some time but looks great! Sorry about the pool install. Keep us posted!! Have fun at lunch! Our restaurants are still holding at 50% capacity.

    1. Well, we took one look and decided not to make the arch. The party has a watermelon theme and the balloons are several shades of green, red, and pink with some green/white swirly ones, and red ones with white spots...then they threw in a lot of leafy green vine and a few mylar watermelon slices. We decided to just tie some bunches of them around and what ever is left we're going to throw in the bounce house for the kids to have fun with.

  8. I haven't been to my chiropractor since mid-March and I feel everything tightening up! I need to be more vigilant about my stretches or tightening will be the least of my problems. Thanks for the reminder.
