Monday Madness: "The Finish This Sentence" Questions
1. My uncle once... served as a Marine with the Navajo Code Talkers and landed one beach down from Iwo Jima.
2. Never in my life have I... been in trouble with the law. Not so much as a parking ticket on my record.
3. When I was five my parents... owned his and her Mustangs, which they traded for a pickup truck and a station wagon. Sigh.
4. High school was... okay, neither horrible nor great.
5. I will never forget to... make sure I have my keys in my hand before I lock the car door. Experience is a painful teacher.
6. Once I met 7... I don't know what to say here. People? Ministers? Friends?
7. There’s this boy I know... he has my heart and calls me Nana.
8. Once, at a bar, I... wasn't there. I have never gone to bars.
9. By noon, I’m… starving because I'm doing the whole 16-hour fast thing.
10. Last night I... binge watched a bunch of NCIS episodes.

ReplyDeleteI had three uncles who served in the army, two in Vietnam and the other I think was Korea. I was too young to remember but I did understand the seriousness of what was going on, though. I was terribly afraid for them. Thankfully God brought the home physically safe, mentally left them a bit scared as you can imagine. I'm always afraid I'll leave the house without my keys even when I have them in my hand. I did lock my keys in the car once and that's all it took to learn my lesson, too. Neither DH or I drink, but we did go to a bar to where our youngest daughter worked at the time to meet her for a few minutes and another time to have dinner with friends. I guess seating was bad. ReplyDeleteYou don't have to tell me about binge watching. That is all we've done during these past months. I'm afraid it will be a terrible habit to break! And yes, I also know one of those boys, only he calls me grandma. Fun answers!

ReplyDeleteI can identify with (#3) Rites of Passage! Unfortunately, the car in question was a 1965 Mustang I talked my former husband into selling on the cheap. Granted, it was ugly as homemade sin and an embarrassment (to me) ... but what a foolhardy decision!

Hi Stacy - what a fun post. That really is an interesting bit about your Uncle. I have some uncles who fought in WWII. That is so cool that your parents had his and her mustangs!! A few years back, Charly and I had two '73 Mustangs at the same time - a Mach 1 for him and an orange convertible for me. The kids drove them mostly, and then we sold them and got a van. Sigh. Fun post. I will be back to visit again soon! Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteI don't like Ziva. There, I said it! My favorite NCIS episodes are the early ones with Kate, or the later ones with Bishop. I know that puts me out of step with the rest of the NCIS Universe, which seems to be pining for a Tony/Ziva reunion, but I feel better for having "said" it outloud.
