Thankful Thursday

Good morning! The sun is shining for the first time since Sunday and the humidity hasn't reared its ugly head yet so it's a gorgeous start to the day. I have a meet up with a potential client later this morning so I'm trying to be all efficient and organized this morning and get lots done before then. Linking up with Rebecca Jo @ Knit By God's Hand for Thankful Thursday happens to be on the list!

THIS WEEK I AM THANKFUL...

** My supervisor at the new job had a client meeting not far from me on Tuesday and asked if she could stop by afterward to give me the info on another client. It saved me a drive into the office and I was also able to give her my time slip.

I don't know that I always think the people at my new job are the most organized people, but they are so very NICE and if you've been around long enough to remember me mentioning my previous boss...you KNOW I sure appreciate and am thankful for that!

** The combination of the Ozempic and Phentermine seems to be doing the trick with my appetite. I am losing a pound or two a week and am not hungry between meals or dealing with cravings.

In fact, the Ozempic, which keeps the stomach from emptying out as fast, seems to be working so well I have to make myself eat at times. Other times I do feel hungry, but it takes very little to feel full. If I eat too much I don't feel well. I'm actually playing around with finding the right kinds of foods to eat because I'm getting a little light headed at times.

I'm confident I'll get it worked out. I'm just glad the weight is coming off.

** Colton is getting back to his old self and wanting to spend time with me. For a while there he didn't want anyone but his parents and he didn't want to go anywhere. He had turned into a bit of a hermit. So it's great to see him wanting to come over here and spend time with me or Tim. (I also think he sometimes just wants to not share attention or his toys with his sister.)

He was with me all day yesterday. We set up his race cars all over the living room floor, watched his shows, read books, and he played with his ocean explorer boat.

** Always thankful for Leah's funny personality. That girl is a firecracker and keeps us laughing and on our toes.

** A fun trip to see the dinosaurs with Megan and the kids.

** Work is slowly building up my caseload and next week I'm getting trained on a van route so I can fill in on it to make up some hours. One thing's for sure, this job should be varied enough to keep it interesting!

** My family and the fact that so far in this life we have been spared any great tragedy.

** Jesus and the gift He so freely gave. And God, who is always there, always was there, and will always be there. How awesome and amazing is it to know that God has been putting things in motion to answer today's prayer since before the world began?

** I am always thankful for you!

  4. What a blessing to have a nice boss and colleagues, too! Life's too short to deal with the others. Congratulations on the successful weight loss. I know it's no fun, but I wish I could experience just a few episodes of having to make myself eat. Since I quit smoking 8 years ago it seems I'm ALWAYS hungry.

    1. Amen to that! Life is too short to deal with a lot of garbage we often get caught up in. I have to spread food out...eat smaller amounts but a few times through the day. I imagine it's a bit like it is for those who have the surgery. I know they can only eat very small amounts or risk getting sick or injuring themselves.

  5. This post made me smile. Such good news and I pray it continues for y'all.
Colton and I are soulmates. I've always been like a hermit. Have to force myself to go anywhere anymore. *lol*
    Thankful for you too.
    Blessings. xx

    1. With the way the world is these days, I'm not all that anxious to venture out there, either.

    1. I am up to a point. We were just a little worried when he really didn't want to leave the house or his parents. For a while there he had some serious anxiety.

  7. I am so glad you are getting started with your new job and that everyone has been so nice. That sure makes a big difference! And how sweet that Colton came and spent the day with you, just him and you. That's pretty special. And Leah is a sweet little girl and you are so blessed to have them both so close. I sometimes think I need to adopt some grandchildren to do fun things with. But Lily Grace might get jealous. LOL. Have a blessed day.

    1. Nice people at work is still such a culture shock to me. I'm always braced for the worst and then sort of amazed when that isn't how it goes. I never realized till I got out of there how completely toxic that whole place was...not just my boss, but everyone. So cool to be in the exact opposite environment. Aw, I bet Lily Grace would take adopted grandkids right in stride and enjoy the playmates.

  8. Your new job sounds so interesting. I always like a job that is new and interesting and not same old, same old day after day. Guess that's why I became a teacher. Colton is sure a cutie. So glad he is coming out of his shell more. You are so blessed to be able to spend so much time with them. So glad the Ozempic is working. I think of you every time one of those commercials come on. See you again soon. Have a good Friday!

    1. I like jobs that aren't the same day after day, too. A job in a factory would be about the worst I can imagine. Ha! I always sit up and pay attention when the Ozempic commercials are on. Thanks for stopping by and always being so encouraging, Deb. I appreciate it and you!
