Hello! It's a gray, rainy day with rapidly falling temperatures here in southwestern Pennsylvania. It was 60 degrees when I woke up and now at 10:00, it is 49 degrees. The rain and cold wasn't supposed to come in until later today...such a change after yesterday's sunshine and 70 degrees. Tomorrow's high is only expected to be in the mid 30's. Brrr! I'm good with it, though. I like my November to feel like November.
Anyway.....
I'm linking up with Rebecca Jo, Jennifer, and Leslie for Thankful Thursday.
Today I am thankful...
** My family is well and getting back to normal after Covid entered our lives back at the beginning of the month. Our daughter and son-in-law were the only ones who actually had it...though the pediatrician refused to test the kids for school because they didn't want to put anyone at their office at risk, they said they'd just "assume" the kids had it because the parents did.
None of us think they did. They had the remains of the virus (that was NOT Covid because they were tested then) and major ear infections, but they were on antibiotics and got continually better while Megan and Cody got worse.
** A third emergency room visit (a different hospital) this past Sunday resulted in Megan being prescribed a med for nausea that worked. Being able to eat and drink has greatly hastened her recovery.
** Our son-in-law was able to return to work this week.
** The soil contamination on Tim's job site turned out to be below the allowed government levels so the only precaution they have to take is to wear masks when doing any digging or anything that puts them in contact with the soil. They probably all had the minor complaints from breathing in the dust.
** I am back into the full swing of work this week.
** I am off this morning and Colton is here for some time away from home and to be with me. He has been on a kick where he wants to be here all the time.
** Yesterday Tim and I celebrated our 37th wedding anniversary. Where have the years gone??
1984
** Mom and John got their booster shots this past weekend and are feeling a lot better about venturing out again.** Jasper is settling down. A little. I will take any improvement at all from my naughty boy and be thankful for it. He still has his times when he bounces off the walls. Literally. But there are more and more times when he is cuddled up and crashed.
** This time of the year and the holiday season. Bah-humbug to all of you who complain about Christmas music and decorations before Thanksgiving. I for one think people should go for it if it helps lift their spirits in these trying days. I don't know about you, but I believe the world could use a little more love, peace, joy, and good cheer all year round!** God, my heavenly Father; Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior; and the Holy Spirit, my guide through this life.
** My family and friends.
** And all of you.
Lovely post. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary to you as well. We're like two moons circling one another, sort of. Ha. Polar opposites yet a lot alike? I bet we'd be friends if we lived near one another.
ReplyDeleteI think so, too. Um...not sure I like the moon comparison, though. We have not gotten plantoid in size! LOL

ReplyDeleteSO happy the family is back to "normal", whatever that is! Praise God your kids came through it without major major issues. God is good. I know it was hard as it was, but again, praise God. Happy Anniversary to you and Tim! That is wonderful!!! May God bless you with many more happy years together! Jasper is adorable...typical kitten I'd say. I sometimes wish...but then again I don't... And if Christmas music/decorations makes you happy, then go for it. For me I just can't handle two things at once. I used to be able to multi task in many areas, but it seems that retirement and "old age" (LOL) has made me very single minded. So I just have to take it one holiday at a time. But I say do whatever brings joy and peace and happiness to your lives. You've had a rough time lately!!! Love ya. God bless and have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteWhere do the years go indeed? In just a blink....
ReplyDeleteSo many doctors, I just dont understand.... just "assume" ??? WHAT?? LOL Wow
Glad you had a normal week back at work! That's nice to get back to a regular schedule after a crazy go
Happy anniversary! Praise God the kids are over Covid and the little ones are feeling better, too. I enjoyed your thankful list, Stacy. Have a blessed weekend! xo
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! I love both pictures of you and Tim. So glad that your daughter and son-in-law are getting over Covid and that everything is getting back to normal for you. I hope you have a good weekend and a very Happy Thanksgiving! See you again soon!
ReplyDeleteWell, this is an anniversary you two will remember for years to come! "You know, Honey, it was the year with covid and soil contamination." Hopefully the rest of your year will be smooth sailing.
ReplyDeleteJasper is going through his toddler phase. By the time he reaches his first birthday he'll be much calmer.
I love kitten zoomies, lol. They are just so goofy. Happy Anniversary! Happy to hear the fam is feeling better. Our HOA allows lights from 1 month before Christmas to one month after. I take full advantage!! It's DARK here early this time of year, and my Christmas display cheers me up. I'll be putting up my tree on the 24th (it's my birthday) since I took the day off. It will be nice to have Mom helping me (by pointing, lol) this year.
