Sunday Stealing: It's Complicated

It seems that we all have nothing but time these days, but even so, our favorite weekly memes are always a fun way to spend some time getting to know each other. Today I'm linking up with Bev for Sunday Stealing. You can join in the fun by clicking here.

This from Bev:

My friend, author, artist and theater critic Alec Clayton decided to write a series of more complicated questions to answer during this coronavirus time, when we are all looking for something to do if we are staying home.  I thought his questions intriguing.

1. If there's a personal god, what quality would you most like that person to have (and why)?  Well, I believe in God, the Creator of the universe and all that is in it. He isn't my personal "god" but, the true God. I do have a deep, and personal relationship with him, however. I know him to embody all that is truth, light and good. He is love, faithful, just, patient, and so many other things! He is my peace, my hope, and my joy in this crazy world.

2. What's your death-row meal?  A big, juicy Delmonico steak, steamed broccoli, and a baked potato.

3. Assuming we make it through this outbreak with minimal loss of life, what do you think our big takeaway should be?  Wash your hands more often and appreciate the little things in life...because they just might be the big things. Plus, I really hope that all the good and kind things I see people doing right now don't stop just because the pandemic is over.

4. Whom do you find yourself missing more than you would've predicted?  I'm mostly an introvert and most of my family lives right beside me, so I can't say I'm really missing anyone. What I'm missing more than anything is time by myself! I dearly love my husband, but HE'S.ALWAYS.HERE.

5. What brings you the most joy? Not happiness, not contentment -- JOY.  God and my relationship with him. He is how I can have peace in times like these or worse. He fills my heart with joy no matter what is going on around me.

6. Do you find yourself regretting anything you've said or done on social media?  No. I consider everything before I post it.

7. What are your favorite and least favorite things about your body and face?  Oh, I guess I like my smile best and hate my weight the most.

8. and your life?  Are we talking favorites again?  If so, I guess my favorite thing is being a grandmother and my least favorite thing is paying bills!

9. How's the self-isolation affecting your libido?  No change.

10. Which three places in the physical universe would you most like to visit?  Australia, the Middle-East (Egypt, Israel, Turkey), and any tropical island.

11. On whom did you have a crush years ago? Have you ever told them?  My childhood best friend's brother. I don't think I actually told him, but he knew. It went nowhere as he was much older.

12. How have your religious views changed since you were in high school?  I was raised in the church and had head knowledge of God, but I had no faith. I've since been reborn in Christ.

13. If you could change one law, what would it be?  I think I would find one age (higher than the one we've got) for young people to be eligible to drive, vote, and serve in the military.

14. If you could add one commandment to the original ten, what would it be?  Thou shalt not be self-righteous and sit in judgement on others.

  1. #4 made me smile. You're not alone in missing being alone! A friend of mine is visiting Key West and now, with travel to and from the island restricted, he's stuck down there. Tensions are overflowing, as they will in stressful times, and his host shouted at him: "If you don't like it here, you can just go home!" Well, um, no, he can't.

  7. #4 made me laugh. That's how it's been since November when my husband had surgery. I have become very good at shutting my office door.
