It's a gorgeous summer morning here in the foothills of southwestern Pennsylvania. The sun is shining and we're expecting a comfortable, non-humid high of 78 degrees. Perfect! There isn't much on today's agenda...household chores, maybe some reading out on the deck, and Bible study tonight.
But first, I'm linking up with Annie for a magical Tuesday 4.
1. Can you do a magic trick of any kind? Will you tell us about it? If not.. what magic words do you know? I am sure you learned some from the movies! When I was a kid I got one of those cheap magic sets and I mastered a couple of the tricks...and tricks is all they were. It was actually disappointing back then to learn there was no real magic involved, just deception and slight of hand. I'm sure I couldn't do them now. As for magic words, I love "abracadabra" because it's the name of a song by the Steve Miller Band.
2. Have you ever been to a magic show or watched any movies about magic? Do you have a favorite magician? I've never been to a show, I've seen the movie Now You See Me a couple of times because Tim likes it and watches it whenever it's on, and I have no favorite magician. I am amazed by the magicians they get every year on America's Got Talent. I have no idea at all how they can do some of the things they do.
3. Have you ever been out on a magical date or had what you considered a magical evening? My first date with Tim was pretty magical. He took me to the fanciest restaurant that was around in those days. I was only 19 and it all seemed so sophisticated to me. It was the kind of place where the waiters wore cut-away jackets with towels over their forearm and pulled out your chair. He had champagne chilling in a silver bucket beside the table and ordered the steak and lobster tail for both of us. They brought little chocolate cups of some kind of liqueur between courses. The next day he sent me a dozen roses. I think he swept my mom off her feet, too!
4. Holidays are said to create magic. How do you create magic during the holidays? For me, the holidays are about celebrating the birth of Jesus and family. I try to encourage family moments and give everyone good memories of each other to hang on to. I think a good day with family is pretty magical.

Your first date sounds like something from a Hallmark movie! I agree about some of the magicians on AGT. Pretty amazing, but I'm far too realistic to actually believe in magic.
ReplyDeleteI had some trouble posting mine.
