Thankful Thursday

It's Thursday and you know what that means...THANKFUL THURSDAY! I'm linking up with Rebecca Jo @ Knit By God's Hand to share some of the good things going on and offer up some thanks to the One who blessed me. Heaven knows, we all need some good stuff to focus on these days.

This week I am thankful...

** that while the snow is falling at my friend's house just 25 minutes away, the sun is shining here. And that we've had more sunshine than clouds this week...a rare thing in these parts.

** that while we didn't get to eat at Guy Fieri's new restaurant on Saturday (3.5 hour wait for a table!) we still got to enjoy a dinner out with our daughter and son-in-law. And hey, we still have Guy's place to look forward to!

** I decided to keep my Facebook account. I've got a better handle on ignoring the things that bring me down or get me agitated and I made the decision to block our son and his wife. It seems the most peaceful way to go. Unfriending them, even though they aren't speaking to us, would only fuel the fire and unfollowing them wouldn't remove the temptation of checking their pages to see what they've posted. This way I can't see their stuff and they just think I've shutdown my page.

** more than ever in what seems like an uncertain world, for my family, my friends, and my home.

** for the changes that even I can see the Lord is making in me.

** for a fun night of food, fellowship and movie with my Bible study crew. If you haven't seen it, I recommend you check out Before the Wrath. As an odd aside, the guy you see in the trailer below looks just like our son-in-law only our sil's hair is lighter.

** for pizza from my favorite pizza place.

** that we got the new headboard put on the bed and all the Christmas presents are finally unpacked and put away.

** for a little love note from Tim taped to the microwave the other morning.

** that my family has been spared real tragedy over the years and continues to remain healthy in these times.

** as I always am, for good friends, including all of you that I've not yet met face to face.

I leave you today with the verse that goes with my word for the year (abundance).

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).  John 10:10 (Amplified)

  1. It is beautiful outside today! We do at least need some rain though. Better rain than snow! Now that Christmas is over, I'm ready for Spring :)

  2. Hi Stacy, I am sorry about the issue with your son. I understand about Facebook too. I have had to hide post too from some friends too. I am trying to stay positive. As Christians we are to be the light and show God's love. It is nice that you can get together with your Bible group. We can't hear because Covid is really bad. I lost a friend last week and another yesterday. I will have to check out that movie. Have a great weekend!

  3. Love that verse and it's really good in the version you posted.

Hope things will straighten out in time with your son. It sounds like you had some really fun times this week and I'm looking forward to hearing about Guy's place when you get to go.

    Have a great day friend!

  4. I'm so sorry for the relationship with your son - I know that's hard.
I've learned to block some people & remove things that only make me upset & stressed.
A love note... that is the SWEETEST!!!!! I always love little things like that.
Our roads just got brined for snow coming... these are the days I'm glad I work from home!

  5. A love note on the microwave, that is so sweet. It's the little things that really touch the heart. I've order that movie from Christian Books, I wanted in for my small christian library. I am very anxious to watch it. Too bad about Guy's restaurant, but like you said, you can always go another time. Hope it's soon.
