Checking in with a quick update as we
** I'll be heading out to meet with my first client of the day in a little while. Today will be a long day (9:00 until around 7:00). I'm only seeing two clients, but both are 5-hour appointments. It just had to work out that way this week, but I hope that after this I'll be able to not double up the long appointments.
** Don't look for more than a "Like" or brief comment from me on Facebook. I can only access my account from my phone. I don't know what is going on, but Facebook refuses to load on my laptop. Everything else works so I don't know why it won't.
** I'm hoping my dentist can squeeze me in sometime between my work tomorrow. One of my crowns (the one I just got in May) came off last night and one of the anchor posts is still hanging down. Visible, because the tooth is right behind the incisor. Lovely.
There doesn't seem to be anything left of the actual tooth but the roots (waaaay down inside what feels like a huge crater) so I'm guessing I won't be getting another crown. I hope my dentist is finally going to be ready to discuss a partial or a bridge or anything that doesn't leave me with 2 large gaps on that side of my jaw.
Actually, I wish he'd talk to me about getting dentures on just the top. I have a lot of crowns, some of which are pretty old (for crowns) at this point. I hate the idea of pouring more and more money into root canals and crowns. He keeps putting me off. Funny (not really) thing is, he's a well-known specialist when it comes to implants. Those he suggests all the time, but our insurance won't cover those.
** The women in my Bible study group decided to step out on our own for the next month and a half and work through Lysa Terkeurst's Forgiving What You Can't Forget. Somehow or another I've ended up as the designated group leader for it. We watched the first video session last night and had a time of sharing and discussion. It's going to be interesting.
** Today is a little cooler with maybe a bit of rain this morning. Not unwelcome. I hope it clears away the haze and smoke that's been drifting our way from the fires in Canada. Not too much rain, though, as my first client wants to walk at a local park for a big chunk of his time.
And that's what's happening here. How is your week going?
Hope all goes well with your clients today and that you can enjoy the walk in the park too (that the weather will cooperate).
ReplyDeleteOh friend... you & me are in the same dental boat on these rocky waters.... I have so much money in my mouth on all these root canals & crowns :( I go back next Tuesday for yet ANOTHER root canal on the same tooth. - with 2 more teeth still to RETREAT.. & a broken tooth that still needs a crown. My insurance taps out so fast, everything ahs to wait - its just miserable. Good luck on your visit!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, I hate to hear about your dental challenges! I'm an affirmed coward when it comes to that. I've never had a root canal or crown, but would be tempted to just tell my doc, "Pull them!" I'm going to see if Lysa's video -- or a portion thereof -- isn't available on-line. 'Was pleasantly surprised to see all sessions of our current study (12 Women of the Bible) available on line, 'free for nothing'!
ReplyDeleteUgh...I do not want to discuss dental stuff, sigh. Nope, not going too, lol.
ReplyDeleteIs that what all this haze is from? I had no idea...it sure smells forest firey too, sigh. The temp says 69*, its nice but a tad bit humid and it looks like it wants to rain, but than again, there is so much haze, sigh. Apparently, I slept thru a humdinger of a storm last night, lol.
I hope you have a great day friend. smiles
Sorry to hear about your dental issues. No fun at all. I keep putting off going to the dentist. Just not my cup of tea. Sadly, I will probably wait until it's too late to do anything else. Anyway, I hope you are doing okay today on this long day. Praying your clients visits went well and that you were able to take that walk. It is hot and humid here, but overcast and we did get a shower earlier, so that's fine with me. I just wish it was almost fall. Have a blessed rest of your week. Over the hump now!!
ReplyDeleteI hope the dental issues are an easy fix. I haven't been back to my dentist for, oh, 3 years, I think. I brush and clean a lot. Not too worried about it.
ReplyDeleteHot and very humid here but it is raining. (Hurray!) I like rainy days.
Hope your day was easy and not so long. It's all downhill from here! *lol*
Blessings. xx
Good luck with the dentist. I will give a plug to Affordable Dentures if you have a branch near you. They are reasonable and do bridges as well as dentures. You could at least get quote. My sister used them and so did Joe. Get some rest!!
